Stanbic Bank Kenya has appointed Michael Mutiga as its new Chief Executive Officer. Mutiga, who joins the financial institution from telecommunications giant Safaricom, is set to assume his new role starting August 1.
The appointment is currently awaiting formal clearance from the Central Bank of Kenya.
A Strategic Transition
Mutiga's transition from Safaricom to head one of Kenya's major banking institutions marks a significant leadership shift. His official start at the helm of Stanbic Bank Kenya remains contingent on the pending regulatory approval from the country's banking regulator.
